User Review: Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway Pin Collection (Set A)
Rating: ★★★★☆ "A minimalist's guide to the Mafty Rebellion."
If the Alpha Industries jacket is the "big" statement piece, this pin set is the perfect way to add some fine-tuned detail to your gear. I picked these up to accent my bag, and they really lean into that high-contrast, clean-line aesthetic that defines the movie's UI and art direction.
The Standout Pieces
The Logotypes: The RX-105 diamond and the [Ξ] block pins are the winners here. They look like actual military hardware designations. The enamel finish is smooth, and they have a nice weight that doesn't feel like cheap tin.
The Pumpkin Mask: This one is a great "deep cut." It’s an instant conversation starter for anyone who remembers the chilling opening sequence of the film. The orange pops perfectly against a darker background.
The Character Portraits: Hathaway and Gigi look crisp. The printing on these circular pins is high-res, capturing Murase’s specific character designs without losing detail in the small scale.
The "If You Know, You Know" Factor
What I love most about this set is the variety. You can go loud with the Xi Gundam headshot or keep it incredibly subtle with the Pink Triangle geometric pin. It’s a great mix of literal "anime" merch and abstract design elements that wouldn't look out of place on a professional tech bag.
Minor Gripes
The circular pins are standard butterfly clutch, which is fine, but for the heavier enamel logo pins, I’d recommend swapping the backs for rubber or locking clutches if you’re pinning them to a jacket. You don’t want that Mafty badge falling off mid-transit.
Final Verdict
A must-have for anyone building a "Technical Database" or lore-heavy collection. It covers all the bases—protagonists, mecha, and the political iconography of the Anti-Earth Federation Movement.
